Replacing "Bowsette" with less erroneous nomenclature

Posted under General

Also, this is like the 27th time we've changed our mind about how Bowsette should be tagged.
Even if we remove every tag we don't want, the site's suggested tags don't have time to update, much less so will people know how they should be tagging her.
Most likely this won't get streamlined until after this fever dies down 1-2 weeks from now.

That's the nature of the site unfortunately. Nothing we can do besides weathering the storm.

Still find it hardd to decide how Will there be clarification on how to correctly tag the character soon?
As in which game series titles to stick with.

Transformation shouldn't apply unless it's clear from the image that Bowser is actually transforming. See topic #15583.

That's why I said "probably".
P.S. Going slightly offtopic here, but if we're to use transformation for that purpose, the tag needs to be gardened and the wiki needs to be rewritten. Most of the use of that tag doesn't seem to conform to the definition you specified.

I think this is nitpicky. 'Bowsette' has become the name after the huge explosion in popularity, so it should stay. No one is saying 'Peachser'.

This doesn't mean every possibly use of the mushroom should get its own tag, so 'super_crown_transformation' could be a tag for anyone using said item, but 'Bowsette' can stay

super_crown_transformation would just end up being added to 99% of the posts that should be tagged super_crown; we don't need it. Just super_crown is enough.

It's too late to change the name now anyway since we recently passed 1K posts, it's pretty much set in stone.

Is this irony? It is a genderswap, hence the genderswap tag should be applied.

Honestly I feel like it's a stretch to call this a genderswap to begin with. This isn't just a male character turning female. It's one character magically taking on the traits of an entirely different character. If anything I'd consider it closer to transformation or maybe fusion than to genderswap.

We are altering the terms of the genderswap tag.

This should be its own forum thread though - I think the thread with this title is done.

Ok, now we're getting actual genderswapped bowsette, so I went ahead and removed genderswap from her normal pics. I left it for pictures where bowser was shown transforming, and added transformation/humanization to those as well.

No, that one is a personification. Genderswap means a character changes gender.Bowsette us Bowser. Bowser is male. Bowsette is female. It isn't rocket science guys.

imo Bowsette should only be tagged with genderswap/genderswap_(mtf) and transformation if Bowser is shown to be transforming into Bowsette. I'd suggest using fusion instead - it's not just "Bowser's a girl now", it's "Bowser and Peach smooshed into one character".

Where do you get this idea from? Does the crown merge Peach with characters? There is zero evidence that this is the case. The crown just made Toadette resemble Peach. If this is because Peach is a mushroom or the crown simply making everyone just resemble her we still don't know. Your fusion idea has no basis in proven facts.

Yeah... That is just blatantly false. I debunked this notion in my other post.

really? That why is that? Where is the thread discussing this? I for one is against such nonsense.

So you mean the fact that he's looking exactly like a male version of Bowsette is purely coincidental? It's not, therefore it's a genderswap of Bowsette instead of a simple personification.

If the crown just made Toadette resemble Princess Peach she wouldn't be the size of Peach.
