[REJECTED] Tag implication rape -> forced

Posted under Tags

The bulk update request #2249 has been rejected.

create implication rape -> forced

Reason: Their definitions, as per their current wiki entries:
rape: Forcing perverted or sexual acts on an unwilling participant.
forced: For posts that depict a character(s) being subjected to something against their will.

The definition of 'rape' uses the word "Forcing" and the wiki lists 'forced' under its "See also" section. It seems to me that any post which does not satisfy the conditions of the 'forced' tag cannot be rape.

Sorry, but I'm just going to repeat the argument I made the last time this implication was proposed:

I think it's safe to say that if anyone wants to find rape, they will search for that tag on its own. Merging the tags like this and further saturating forced with rape images doesn't appreciably improve anyone's ability to search for anything. On the contrary, it only complicates searching for non-rape things like post #398614 or post #1583901.

It might be better to distinguish between these two tags in the same way that we do with bondage and tied up. Use rape for rape and forced for everything else.

Alright, that makes sense. Once the BUR is rejected I'll update the wiki for forced to make the distinction clearer.

Speaking of which, because rape includes "perverted or sexual acts" and not just penetration, a lot of the posts that currently show up under the tag search "forced -rating:safe" are tagged improperly. I'll do some janitorial work on it, which along with the wikis will hopefully clear up future confusion.

Yeah, forced's current definition doesn't presently exclude sexual acts, so it's loaded with posts that would be better tagged irrumatio, molestation, rape, and so on. Just a quick glance at that tag gives me the impression that pruning non-consensual sex acts will result in it becoming a lot smaller than it is, and it was already less than 1/20th the size of rape to begin with.

@iridescent_slime What are your thoughts on cases like post #3694669 and its children (NSFW)? The subject is consensually performing fellatio in the first image, then is subjected to irrumatio in the second image, seemingly against her will. Generally speaking, would that be forced or rape? Does the fact that she consents to (similar) sexual activity change which tag should be used?
Rape might come off as a little severe for cases like this, but I don't know that I'd agree to it belonging in forced either given that it's non-consensual sexual activity.

Alright, I've cleaned the tag up a bit. I didn't remove forced from the following cases:
Forcible undressing
When forced to do something related to rape when rape itself is not present, like in imminent_rape and after_rape
In cases of consensual sex where a mildly non-consensual act is introduced

Due to the existence of the forced_orgasm tag, I did not remove the 'forced' tag from cases of forced masturbation. However, I removed the 'forced' tag from 'forced_orgasm' posts unless something unrelated was also being forced on someone.
At the end of the day, by its definition, the 'rape' tag also encompasses situations which would more accurately be called "sexual assault". Of course, there's no problem with having a tag definition and a word definition differ from each other, but it's just something to keep in mind.

Without any sort of context outside of those images, it's hard to say whether this is consensual or not. It's possible that she's fully on board with it and her pained expression in the second image is just an involuntary reaction to a physically uncomfortable sex act. I wouldn't tag it rape, and I'm on the fence about forced, but it definitely makes me want to dust off the rough sex tag.
