Are you just asking about an implication to a common tag? I guess I'd implicate to cosmetics.

Would people rather use "Make-up" to describe cosmetics, or the actual word "Cosmetics"?

Is there a way, so that when you tag something like: lipstick, then a make-up (or cosmetics) tags will pop up along with it?

I'd say cosmetics is probably better than make-up, and yes, that would be the result of setting implications.

I support makeup as the primary tag, but that's because when I hear "makeup" I think of it on a character and for "cosmetics" I think of the physical product.

Don't forget nail_polish, which, depending on your way of thinking, might be cosmetics without being makeup.

I've actually dug through the entirety of the nail_polish tag a few months ago with the express purpose of finding how many images depicted the actual product instead of it being on the nails, and after that search I'd say it was pretty safe to say it followed what I'd label makeup. There perhaps was only around 2 or so images that depicted the actual product.

Hmm, I know that makeup can be used to refer to non-facial cosmetics but I never think of it that way myself. I wonder how many people would?

So would make sense to place all the facial makeup under the makeup tag? Then there is nail polish- as mentioned.

Basically saying. This character is wearing makeup, but you can still see the individual tags to what she (or he) is wearing. For example, you can search lipstick and minus makeup. But lipstick is makeup.

Of course there isn't a word to describe lipstick being on lips or nail polish being on nails... unless you literally type it out that way.
