To be honest, I don't even think that distinction really needs to be made.
Whenever I see a post with either a kitten or a cat, I just tag it as cat anyway. And given that kitten has such a low tag count, I don't really think an implication should be made.
Perhaps just an alias instead?
I thought this was done months ago (forum #23676). A certain now banned-for-a-year user went around separating kitten's & puppies from their respective species.
I'd support the implications. Young cats and dogs do tend to have a fairly distinct appearance from adult ones; same with most other animals, but that is another matter.
Well, I'll do the implication because it makes sense. Whether or not we need the tags is a different question that can be resolved separately - but assuming we keep them, the implication makes sense.
