The wince tag needs to be discussed again, because its usage is all over the place.
Last time it was discussed, a wince doesn't necessarily mean an eye is closed or not, that it isn't a subset of wink or any other tag. However, a casual glance at the thumbnails show that wince is overwhelmingly used for a flinching, reflexive wink. I've even noticed one user replace wink with wince in post #780305, which is not helpful when it's still a wink by our definition of the word.
So far, I can think of two solutions to deal with it:
- Continue with the current wince definition. Requires cleanup by adding wink to posts missing the tag. All 81 pages of it.
- Alias wince to wink or nuke the tag, since the other meanings of wince are lost on everyone. A more intuitive tag (flinch?) should be added before doing so.
Thoughts?
