post #890137 and some others use it as "A primarily monochrome/B&W image with a focused object in color" or thereabouts but it's not consistent at all.
Not the best-named tag in general really.
You're thinking of colored in which it was a black and white image that was colored.
There is spot color which deals with monochrome images with a colored object.

No, colored is a B&W image having color added after the fact, often by a third party.
I tagged color for monochrome images that are not B&W (red & white, yellow & white, etc) since I didn't know what to use.

I have only ever used it together with monochrome for images which are half-colored-half-monochrome such as post #822088 and post #825246.
