tagging assistance for little colored light circle

Posted under General

sorry, if there's an existing topic before. i just encountered several images containing little colored lights like in post #846724. they looked like energy balls but significantly smaller in size. could fall into a firefly but a little out of context. sparkle appears to be pointed. same goes to glitter, but this has no existing definition yet.

is there an existing tag for cases like this? or if there's none, do we need to create such tag? any suggestions? thanks in advance.

I don't know if there is a word for them, or what it would be, but those always make me think of motes of dust catching the light just so.

That would be the artist trying to simulate (the undertagged) bokeh, although in that post, it doesn't seem as visually distinct.

i'm thinking of using bokeh in some posts but yeah, it's much smaller. it just got my attention because there seems to be many of them. i'm inclined to use lights initially, but someone said before that the lights tag is used for man-made lights like those light emitted in buildings in night cityscape.

i might use it in case there are really many enough after i filter out which may fall to bokeh and not. though i found we have an existing light_orb tag but it has zero entry and no wiki as of now. i wonder how was this used in the past.

light_circles would make more sense IMO.
"Orbs" make me think of actual floating light balls while we can't really tell what those things are. "Circles" would follow the "tag what you see" principle better.

Actually, on second thought I wonder if light_particles wouldn't be even more appropriate. We don't bother about the shape and it can cover things like glowing particles you see around magic and energy weapons.
