i've read forum #25118, and it seems the implication of floral_print -> flower didn't push through 2 years ago because we're still undecided of flower's definition?

I'm for keeping flower for actual flowers, not for anything vaguely resembling the shape of a flower.

• sun_(symbol) / sun

So, maybe we could have:

My impression is also, as Danielx21 shows, that commonly "motified" objects are tagged for anything that resembles them, so +1 for flower_(plant) to distinguish actual flowers.

flower has been used for actual flowers for a hell of a long time, not to mention the loads of implications linked to it. Symbolic flowers should get their own tag.

+1 for making flower_(symbol) a new tag and for keeping flower for real flowers.

• +1 for flower_(symbol)

On second thought, what about post #341186?

These flowers are simplistic — much like the flower-symbols of post #1049037 — but they are in the ground, as part of the scene, as actual flowers instead of symbols to decorate objects or backgrounds.

I would tag post #341186 flower.

I'm also getting second thoughts on this flower_(symbol) tag. floral_print already covers most of the imagery of flowers that aren't the plant, so it's for the symbol already. flower_(symbol) seems like a hyper-specific tag for one post.

How about:
floral_print be used exclusively for the pattern on clothing
flower_(symbol) be used for both the background and print,and
flower be used for the plant?

Another possibility could be flower_(plant) being used exclusively for the plant,with flower being used as an umbrella term for all 3 types

The beads don't seem much symbol-like to me. They're quite realistic in the context of the image.
