What is background_base?

I can't see any apparent similarity between any of the posts with this tag. It doesn't appear to serve any consistent purpose.
It seems that the tag was created by @NeverGonnaGive so maybe they'd be willing to explain its original intent.

IIRC, it was a complement of avatar_base, wherein either was sourced or used in that facility of an artist’s account profiles. Again IIRC, I had run into some materials which did not have a proper works page of their own, and/or had interest to contextualizing the presence of said works for those unfamiliar with an artist’s full catalogue (especially for avatar_base, as those are often severely cropped). I suppose *_basis could be substituted, but these days I don’t know what merit this metadata would have anyway.

Those tags then should be meta and have a clarifying wiki, but I'm not sure if there's any use in having them given that typically such pictures are just crops of an artist's normally published work.
Can we clarify when, exactly, thunder should be tagged? Since sounds aren't generally visible it seems to me that this tag only makes sense when you can hear thunder in a sound-enabled video, or when sound effects (ゴロゴロ, ピカ, etc.) are seen. But a large proportion of the posts with this tag are just lightning.
bared teeth?
It seems like a combine of clenched teeth, grin, biting and roaring? Is it worth keeping?

If there's nothing unique about the tag, then no.
IMHO bared_teeth should only be for when the lips are curled to show the teeth like a snarling predator. It's not an expression of pain, like a grimace, or excitement, like a grin; it's an overtly hostile expression used as a threat. Good examples of the tag being correctly used are post #1847692, post #2139513, and post #3024109.
Shirt_slip needs a definition, if it is even necessary. Glancing through the posts with this tag, I see a lot of images that should have instead been tagged clothes_down, off_shoulder, or in the case of camisoles, strap_slip.
