[bulk] Tag alias: hairy_pussy -> pubic_hair

Posted under Tags

I'd rather this just be an alias due to how incredibly subjective and haphazardly used the hairy pussy tag is (see topic #12565). Part of the reason that tag is so heavily populated is because its creator chose to slap it on pretty much anything, e.g. post #1733844. But other users here seem to like the tag too, so whatever.

I would support an alias. The distinction between these tags seems rather vague to me and, as iridescent slime said, hairy_pussy was used very haphazardly and random so far.

If we really want a tag for unusually dense/bushy pubic hair, then it would be better to just start another one from scratch. It would need a better, more precise name and clear definition.

I'd be fine with either an alias or a generally agreed upon definition of hairy_pussy (or some equivalent tag). Personally, I think bushy hair on the mons pubis and hair on the outer labia are separate, taggable and somewhat useful concepts, but I don't care quite enough to get properly involved in a debate on whether either or both of them should have tags, and what to call those tags.

I suggested the implication because I assumed that hairy_pussy had become an accepted tag de facto, and in that case it made sense to let it imply pubic_hair.

+1 for the alias.

As for replacement tags, a tag for pubic hair that extends past the bikini area to the thighs or lower abdomen would in theory be simple to maintain. It's pretty straightforward to define a tag based on where hair is. A tag based on how much hair there is would be much trickier, as terms like "dense" or "bushy" are inherently difficult to quantify. Regarding forum #112119 from the other thread, tags like wide hips and large breasts work because they can be strictly defined by comparing the dimensions of body parts. I'm not opposed to a tag for pubic hair that is particularly thick or shaggy per se (tags like petite and plump are borderline subjective but we manage to use them effectively nevertheless), but getting taggers to use such a tag consistently would require a definition that minimizes room for interpretation.

It would have to be a new tag. It could be something like excessive_pubic_hair, to standardize with the main pubic_hair tag, for extra clarity of the tag's purpose, and to get rid of the rot the hairy_pussy tag has.

I'm up for aliasing hairy_pussy -> pubic_hair, but I'd like to hear what others have to say.

Aliasing hairy_pussy with pubic_hair would mean that male_pubic_hair implicates hairy_pussy (in a logical sense).

We should do some tag gardening on the hairy_pussy tag and populate the new excessive_pubic_hair along the way.
Afterwards we could nuke hairy_pussy.

Complicated alternative:
create female_pubic_hair tag
alias hairy_pussy -> female_pubic_hair
implicate female_pubic_hair -> pubic_hair
create excessive_pubic_hair
implicate excessive_pubic_hair -> pubic_hair

I wouldn't say that. An alias X -> Y basically says "X is a subset of Y (and X isn't tag-worthy in itself)". If male_pubic_hair implicates pubic_hair and hairy_pussy is aliased to pubic_hair, then that means that male_pubic_hair and hairy_pussy are two different subsets of pubic_hair, where the former is considered tag-worthy and the latter isn't.

I guess you could argue that way ...

But I am still convinced that we should nuke hairy_pussy and populate excessive_pubic_hair from scratch (+1 for MyrMindservant).

I tagged some sample images with the excessive_pubic_hair tag. All that's left to do is to copy over the hairy_pussy wiki content to the new excessive_pubic_hair wiki entry.

@Flopsy: You could also go through all hairy_pussy posts (1.4k) and populate excessive_pubic_hair even further. Tag gardening is good for your health! :D

I simply removed the wiki entry of hairy_pussy.

Only mods and above can truly delete Wiki entries. Also, if you're aliasing one tag to another, the wiki pages will be moved anyway.

Good to know.

However, the wiki entry was still untouched an hour after bulk update request #765.

As a matter of interest, is it possible to search for hairy_pussy separately to pubic_hair now? I can see they've been aliased just fine, but some images still hold both as tags when viewed; and for sake of consistency, would be best to gradually phase out hairy_pussy completely to avoid confusion; given that the implicit meaning is still different between the two.
