I would like to reopen the topic of the 2019 Pokemon anime now that it has premiered. The anime does not have an overall subtitle, being rendered as just Pocket Monsters in all marketing related to it. The possibility of retagging it pocket_monsters_(2019_anime) bothers me, as the term "pocket monsters" as it is now refers to the Anakubo manga on Danbooru.

I don't think the current tag Pokemon SwSh (anime) is confusing, but if something else is wanted then Pokemon_(gen_8_anime) or something could work.

After all, the other series are called Pocket Monsters in Japanese, but they're referred to as the Pokemon anime as well - we don't use the Pocket Monsters tag for the other series.

I believe the current tag is fine as is - it fits within the established tagging practises for tagging the Pokémon anime by tacking on the _(anime) qualifier to its equivalent game tag. It might be worth remembering that pokemon_dp_(anime) was changed to pokemon_dppt_(anime) to conform to such tagging. Using each series' subtitle (or lack thereof) as the qualifiers would lead to a confusing mess to tag and search for.
