Required by rules doesn't mean that the soldiers care. You should see half the stuff some of the boys do when no one cares. Let's leave what the women do out of this.
On the topic of the image, honestly I think a MP would be better for Aya, like a MP7A1, they're much more lithe when compared to the AK series. The AK would be better for the undergrounders, solid reliability compared to technical performance (something the tengu are supposidly all about).
Well, I don't know. Logically, yes, you're entirely right (I wouldn't leave home not wearing pants!), but I've heard stories of guys that ran around naked in a warzone. Vietnam and WW2, actually. ...No, they weren't exactly shining pillars of Human Inteligence.
From what I've heard, personally (as in in first person), I agree with the Ammunition choice of the P90, but hate the gun. "One can't put fire down range as quickly with that... thing." - So says a local SWAT trainer (and standing Police Chief of his city), a friend of mine. As he continued to put it: "If they made a MP7 in the 5.7, then we'd be in business." But he just tends to like german guns anyway (HK in particular, big MP5 fan), so...
I would imagine that, given Aya's probably 'air support' role, that she would definitely want pants, if only to prevent unfortunate drafts.
Given her best spellcard basically involves zooming around and blindly firing massive amounts of bullets, she'd probably be employing the 'spray and pray' method...Maybe an MG of some sort would be better? Or something like the Thompson or PPsH that can take one of those 100 round drum mags.

If it's "pow-and-pray", I'd slap her with an M249: being a tengu with supernatural strength, the weight probably wouldn't faze her that much, while the M249's fire rate would give her an impressive amount of firepower. That said, if weight and size was a non-issue, I'd have her toting one of the meanest guns ever produced, the GAU-8 Avenger. Unfortunately, zooming around with something the size of two Volkswagen beetles seems impossible, even for a tengu...
Then again, given her speed, with some training even a pair of knives would be capable of eradicating a whole company in her hands...
Guys, you are looking at this all wrong. Let me ask you this... can you think of anything more distracting then suddenly seeing Aya flying around you with no pants on?

Yes: no clothes whatsoever. Waiting in a sultry, come-hither pose. With sake. In bed. Your turn...
The M134 (7.62NATO Minigun) is currently has a man-portable varient where it is technically feasible to run-and-gun with it. If you don't mind the 200+lbs that the whole system (with 1 load of ammo) weighs. On the same line of thought, the M2HB has a man-portable varient as well, but it in itself weighs 89lbs alone (w/ recoil dampener and muzzle brake) not counting ammo. Both options well within Tengu strength, although the second only provides 400 to 600 rpms compared to 2000, so...

Given those two options, I'd go for the M2HB. Lower fire rate notwithstanding, it's much more maneuverable than the Minigun, so Aya could still be effective as a "Fast mover, heavy support". Still, the M249 offers a rate of ~900 RPM cyclic, 50 RPM sustained, albeit at a lower caliber. If we brought in Cirno to help keep the barrel cool, with a drum of ammunition to feed the weapon, she could lay down some serious suppressive fire while changing positions quickly, the nightmare of any assault.

The M134 MP can be brought to bear in 1.3 seconds (Spin-Up Time, for once TF2 is realistic). On the other hand, the M2HB MP must be held 'in attention' (directed towards expected target) due to the excess 20 inches in length, when it must be brought to bear... that can take upwards of the 3 second 'Death time' (Surprise Engagements usually are over in 3 seconds or less, so...). But then, she's a tengu (super strength), so this wouldn't make a difference when comparing her to a human, but when comparing her to herself the length does make a difference (the old Carbine vs Rifle debate). All in all, I agree with the M249 option, that can be brought to bear in 0.8 seconds and pin down the target with it's impressive 900 cylic rof. As for the barrel cooling, it is possible to jury rig a water cooling system for the M249 which would make 500RPM sustainable, I doubt the 30lbs would make much difference to her. Please do not ask how I know this, as it is most certainly against the rules for unauthorized personnel to modifiy military equipment.
Feminine Yuugi fist the sultry bill a little more than the Koa and Marisa, Meiling is seeable, and... ... That Yuuka doesn't even need to be ne'k'd. She kills as she is. [<- My Type.]
Given her speed and senses, I think it's safe to say it's she who determines when the engagement takes place, so it's no problem for her to keep the M2HB trained on her target, while its weight slows her down less than the Minigun (Yuugi can have that, I'm sure she'd make a good Heavy).
As for a water-cooled M249, that weapon already weighs enough, no need for a (rigged) water-cooling jacket, the coolant, and reserve water. Just bring Cirno along (if we already have Aya), and tell her you'll acknowledge her the Strongest if she can keep the barrel frosty after two minutes of fully automatic fire (from a long belt, not the 200-round box).
Well, that is true. Unless it was the Lunarians that she was fighting, then it's all a moot point. Or Yukari. Or Reimu (HAX!). Yuugi would probably be able to use the GAU-19 (the .50 equivalent of the M134, though they don’t have a man-portable version of this one for obvious reasons) and laugh about the weight and recoil (which is enough to damage a Humvee when rigged improperly) [edit: well, technically it's not recoil (miniguns generate no recoil), but the jarring of the barrels spinning] As for Cirno... I didn’t think Cirno and Aya got along, actually. The M249 weighs a lot less than the M60 (loaded), and a whole lot less than the .50, so I don’t see where the weight argument is going here honestly. The Water system weighs about 30lbs, reservoir included.
