Anime about three Japanese schoolgirls who get recruited to be astronauts because only young girls are light enough for the rocket the Japanese space organization built.
The girl recruiting thing actually makes perfect physical sense, if not much political sense. Weight limits *are* a problem, more so if you're trying to use small rockets.
There's no way they'd be able to get away with the crap they pull in the anime in real life, but from a physical standpoint, it's fine. The science is (mostly) perfect, and girls that age are certainly capable of doing what they're shown to do, if given a chance.
It's just that nobody would give them that chance. It would look bad.

The funny thing is, this happened in real life during the early stage of American Mercury program, due to the low capacity of the Redstone rocket.
