I defenitely say I've grown to really like her. The entire game is essentially 1 giant escort mission. A kinda thing that gamers as a whole can actually agree to mostly hate. And yet I just can't hate her. She's not useless as any other "insert random game here" escort mission found amongst other things.
It seems like the Japanese have taken a real liking to Elizabeth. Does that mean Bioshock is actually doing well over there?
It got good reviews from Japan and new videos of the game are popping up all over NiconicoDouga but. It has had to compete with some hefty competition. Give it time.

Pretty soon, well be seeing a new trend Japanese artists drawing fan-art of western game heroines. Like what they done with Alice in Alice:Madness reruns, SkullGirls, and league of legends.

I'd like to see that for this series and western games in general. With the game's DLC coming around sooner or later, that could spark more fan-art.
Possibly, I haven't seen much in the way of fanart on pixiv and the like.
I would guess so, western games seem to do poorly in japan most of the time, which is a shame, because most people in America like Japanese games. It would actually give Japanese devs a chance to look at these games and, incorporate the elements of western games into jrpgs.

Art and plenty of things in general draw influence from mediums in other countie. If Japanese devs did that, I could see potential for some interesting games.

We see that in games like Kingdom Hearts, which is literally East-Meets-West type game. Also games like skull girls take inspiration from anime, just with a western type art-style.

It also helps that she can literally never die from crossfire, or gets in the way at all.
