This is just a guess, but is Suika's line a distorted version of the saying "If you love your darling children, let them travel"?
Indeed. That's the actual title of the pool/story, but with a slight twist of "kawaii ko (o)ni" instead of "kawaii ko ni", so it's like "If you love your little oni, let them travel," but that totally misses the word play. I'm still trying to work out something that conveys all the nuances.
