"小町" is Komachi's name of course. The "号" signifies that it is a ship name. It's simply a not very creative name for the boat. Chinese and Japanese use "号" but it has no English equivalent either as far as I know.

It's translated now, but basically Komachi's supposed to ferry good souls across the Sanzu River, which has hell beneath it, and she bumps the boat on something and the soul falls in. She then says that guy had so many good deeds that they had lost count.
