I hope they make the next fighter back on the ground. In the air the controls just feels to loose.

You probably think so because you unconsciously compared it with Hisouten and Tensoku with their abundance of cards. But really, not only did it use a different style, it's also something that most people find unusual, the popularity system notwithstanding. I can see why most people find it hard to get used to. I can say the same with IaMP at first, but then it shows that it has the best gameplay and balance. HM has potential for it too, but I do think an expansion to try and improve it a bit more can help.(Unabara, get to work!)
As for less stuff to play with, well, I'll disagree. True, some characters' skills might be useless(Nitori, Kokoro), but most of their skills works as they're intended to. I'd even say that Byakuren's skills set are perfect, just pick the right skill for the right situation. But of course, seeing Hisouten and Soku, I can't help but wanting more skills and SC to utilize, but let's wait for that in the expansion. What's important now, is that the current casts will definitely be playable in future games with similar engine.
