It's actually a thing in the Battleship Girls fanbase in China. Lots of jokes about Prince of Wales being the manliest shipgirl around and how she's everyone's big brother. USS Tennessee overtook PoW in this regard when she was implemented, she's such a tomboy that a lot of the Chinese fanbase jokingly refer to her as a shipboy. They're both very popular, however, and from what I understand, Tennessee is not only a commonly married character among Chinese fans, but she is also a bit of a gender equality symbol among some fans.
