Drawing Yokoi-san in an image of dead Nintendo luminaries seems a bit disrespectful to the man to me, given how he spent his final years as a competitor to that company. The Bandai WonderSwan was his design, and was frankly a great handheld despite being doomed due to Nintendo's unbreakable stranglehold over portable gaming.
But the question is, does it matter "up there" (wherever that is)?

There was never any hard feelings between nintendo and Yokoi despite the whole virtual boy snafu. Hell, the last thing he did as a "resignation" was to gift them the design for the gameboy pocket. He might have briefly worked for a competitor in his last years, but the bulk of his work was for nintendo.
Even to this day Nintendo still holds on to his mottos and design philosophies.
