For me, most commonly it's "turning off the lights". And by the way, isn't the fifth one "Heating the bath and leaving it on"? I think "soaking in it" will be 「つかりっぱなし」.

I wasn't sure if it meant 付けっぱなし or 漬けっぱなし, considering it's about a heated bath. Then again, the latter is a transitive verb, so...
Well, if there's still enough space on the gap between door and the hinge you could always jam a metal ruler in and push the falling object away. Or just unhinge the door.
