Bloodborne's "parry" mechanic always strikes me as an egregious misnomer. It's more like a shoot-his-face interrupt, instead of, well, an actual parry.
Guess they have to keep the naming consistent between 'Souls and 'Borne to let players know it's a similar offensive-defense mechanic...

I don't remember if it was ever called "parrying" by the game itself. But we did, for the sake of consistency. In practice, they're more like "counters."
