More specifically, she's suffering a mental break. The shock stemming from what happened with Roon hit her hard, and then some of the girls then exacerbated it to the point she is now entirely broken.

Hard to feel sympathy for an undeveloped character.
This series relies less on logic and more on "Let's make these girls look scary/crazy and Let Them Fight". In other words, if you think too hard, you lose!
(FFS, Akagi was sunk by an attack she herself launched).
Nothing's saying I have to agree, though. Some actions in this series simply don't make sense if you think about them. Again, Akagi sank herself. Why? She fired a massive strike at Yorktown... and then deliberately took the strike herself. While she was trying to subdue Yorktown. Yeah. Many of the ships have... let's call it "unique" interpretations. Whether they make sense or not, things happen to progress the plot, which is, by and large, Death Battles between the girls. Hence "If you think, you loose". This is not a deep story. It's a fun... well, Yan battle fanfic. The author likes drawing the girls like that. IIRC, they've done large spreads of each faction drawn in that style.
Yeah, this admiral had no business leading a fleet, but that is neither here nor there. The reason she is characterized as having no business leading a fleet is because that characterization allows all this to happen in the first place. If the base had a halfway competent admiral, this would have ended at the Roon-Akagi incident. Probably before Akagi got involved at all. Which means that this story would not have been able to happen. A well-meaning, incompetent, and ultimately mentally broken admiral is exactly what this story called for. So, that's what she is.
Not every story has to have a deep message. Sometimes the story is simply "drama, epic fights and shit blowing up".

This. I understand people arguing the logic of this series, suspension of disbelief can only go so far. But to think that somehow this story has some deep, meta meaning ,I think that's really reaching.
Personally, I feel like if Parka didn't have something they wanted to say - maybe not about the game as a whole, but about the characters, at least - they wouldn't have made a 60-page comic and just stuck to drawing botes with glowy eyes. Whether you agree with what they're saying is one thing, but there IS something being said.

Not really, plenty of art has been done just for the fun of it rather than trying to say something. In fact, the latter is probably a lot less common.

well, Ikazuchi and Inazuma basicaly told her to her faced how useless she was, ans then Atago messily murdered the twins in front of her, all the while she was subtly brainwashing the poor girl into emotionally relying on her. And then Atagao broke the commander by using the key word that triggered her implanted emtional break down. "Useless."
i'm really surprised to the fact that the commander does not have a aide-de-campe (which is like a secretary but is more like a personal assistant than a perdson who just sort files out etc. etc.)
Strength alone determines who is righteous and just.Come.There's no bigger waste of time than an argument. You're the ones who stole her away in the first place."Return"?Return the Admiral to us.I don't care what you think. How utterly ridiculous.Solidarity, is it?
