Everyone who still remembers Haruhi today puts a smile on my face
Whatever happened to it anyway? There was a second season, and then it disappeared. The novels got licensed and disappeared from the internet, and everyone stopped making pictures.

Tanigawa stopped making novels in 2011, KyoAni decided to stop making anime adaptations of properties they don't own, there was that nasty incident with Aya Hirano and the bassist, the second season wasn't received nearly as well as the first because of the Endless Eight, and Yen Press decided to pull a big brain move and stopped printing the English novels for whatever reason.
Despite this, there's still a somewhat active Haruhi fanbase; it's just not nearly as pronounced as 10 years ago.

I'm probably in the minority, but I liked the Yuki Nagato series that was in the 2015 to 2016 timeframe. I enjoyed seeing the characters with a somewhat different pacing to the story. Also it was nice to be able to listen to Bridget Hoffman's soothing voice (for Ryouko Asakura) without the psycho sub-text!
