Is this the first Ishy has made an appearance in learning manga?
Yes.
----
PS: They should instead just put that "Unlimited Budget" into use and have all the Singularities (and maybe some events as OVAs or something), and use the female protagonist instead.
I like the anime using the male protagonist. That way I can keep thinking of the Learning With Manga female protagonist as the canonical one. After all, she did show up in an event...
"canonical" huh? People usually think the contrary, as "the one who gets used in the anime is the canon one". Well, I don't particularly care about canonicity.
I’m going to have to disagree with Altera cause Singularity 2 was terrible. All the Roman characters were criminally underused and the story was absolutely ludicrous. It was bad and made little sense. They introduce characters only to discharge them immediately(Cat, Lizzy, Stheno) and Altera’s appearence was just underwhelming. And funny thing is, I’m surprise Altera would even be happy about her appearance in that story cause she was just HURRDURR I DESTROY STUFF. Even the Paul Bunyan story did her more justice than Rome.
The only worse singularity was London and that was the single most god awful story I have ever read. It was bad. Terribly bad. I think Rome and London were the only stories I could not play through in a single run and even decided to skip. They were pretty terrible.
The best singularity and what they SHOULD start and put money on was France. It was a perfect start to the singularity stories and all a very compelling story. It was where they should have started if they wanted to pull people in and they did it perfectly in game.
Or better yet, they should have made an Lostbelt anime cause Lostbelts is where the story just becomes amazing.
That and seeing as how Altria was such a big fan jerkoff, I’m surprise Camelot was not the anime they decided on. Guess they really wanted to milk that Rin and Gil cow for a change.

I see Gudako as Cannon one simply cause she's clearly the fan favorite.
But all female protags are more popular than make ones for obvious reasons.
Tho Gudako is way more interesting than bland Gudao (anime ver.)

You're using Riyo Gudako as comparison, which would obviously make Anime Gudao bland. I think it's more fair to judge Anime Gudao just with his performance for now since there is no anime Gudako yet. There's still time to develop and hopefully the studio fleshes him out more.

"You know that they just chose Gudao for the anime for the sake of 'self-insert', right? Which thus means that he will keep being as bland as possible, in order to not conflict too much with anyone's personalities, serving his purpose as the blank slate that he is" Or that's what I wanted to say, but I'm not watching the anime so I can't know how they are portraiting him (although I wouldn't be surprised if he was just male!Hakuno 2.0). I do agree that comparing him with Riyo!Gudako isn't fair tho.
Also, "there is no anime Gudako yet", do you really believe in that "yet"?

It's entirely possible. They chose to use Gudako as the protag for some EoR manga adaptions. If the popularity of FGO grows even more that EoR gets adapted, there might be some push to get Gudako in, since EoR is supposed to be "self contained" and using a different protag will have no issue from fans.
i would say, they chose Gudao simple because they want to show he and Mash flirting. Which is nice, make me want to see Camelot's arc to see what is her reaction when Hassan of Serenity keep clinging on him.
They could do that with Gudako too.

Five manga adaptations for Gudao (three if limited to EoR) vs two for Gudako, while I can't really disagree, I highly doubt they would choose Shimosa or Salem instead of Shinjuku, and even if...

As someone who is watching the anime, yes I can confirm that is what they are doing with his personality. Same with Hakuno and Sieg, just bland, blank slate that nevertheless gets all the sycophants singing him praises for no reason, exactly because they are meant to be empty shoes for people to step into.
Though personally I actually find these types of characters more insulting. Yes they are bland so they wouldn't conflict with anyone, but at the same time it just made it feel like you must also be this sort of bland, stale white bread in order to enjoy the story. Otherwise all the pandering just come off as annoying.

Technically we have an anime Gudako tho...it's Riyo Gudako little mini Speical they did a while back
Three if we count the FGO Duel manga. Though knowing how some protagonists are chosen for adaptations, the only way a non-Riyo Gudako would probably get animated is if it's something like an OVA (like the Djeeta episodes in the Granblue anime) or deliberately marketed to a female audience (like the FGO for Girl official anthology).
Oh yeah, you right, totally forgot about that one.
or deliberately marketed to a female audience (like the FGO for Girl official anthology).
1st: I got a feeling that if they were to market it to a female audience then they wouldn't make an adaptation of the game, but something else, am I right about this? 2nd: ...What?
EDIT: Looked up the anthology you mentioned, and I got some "reverse harem" vibes from it, so that's also NG (although I guess I should have expected that), I want yuri dammit.
Oh no, the argument spread from their world into ours!
