exactly what were you assuming would happen? He and Kakashi shake hands and he becomes a sort of rival for Team 7? The deaths of Zabuza and Haku served to develop Team 7, especially Naruto. If Zabuza survived, that would have been a cop-out, and also insanely poor storytelling, as the mob dude still would've wanted to tie up the loose ends. i hate the whole "we fought, but now we're great buddies now" thing that is common place in a lot of series now. Don't get me wrong, I like Zabuza a lot, but i think that if he hadn't died, Naruto (the series) would be stuck in a longer path of boring shounen cliches (not that it wouldn't still have many cliches).
btw, Zabuza got legitimately beasted by Kakashi. he was dead anyway.
I remember tearing up when both Haku and Zabuza died
Like most anime that that stretch out, the first season or two is always the best in that classical sort of way. The newer season are funner to watch, but they're just full of cliches. And I agree with rakuko, which is why all the deaths in FMA: Brotherhood served to make it the best anime series in my opinion
Mr.Sama said: 1) No death will ever beat Kamina's death.
2) I never said they should be buddies, and I never said I thought Zabuza should have survived. Just saying the show lost all of its potential. Not like it's a good show to begin with.
But you ARE saying that Naruto lost all its potential WHEN Zabuza died. from your original statement, I gathered that you did not like that Zabuza died, or that the events leading to his death were not favorable to your enjoyment of Naruto. I stated several paths that could have been taken in lieu of Zabuza's death, giving an opinion that the best choice for the series was to kill him off. How was the potential lost in your opinion, and what would be a path that Kishimoto could have taken that would have preserved what you think was the potential, while still keeping the general style of the series?
I just figured that at one point, you must have enjoyed Naruto to some degree. I mean, isn't that why you posted on this image?
