This is a big part of it, yeah...But it's also the size of the faces and bodies, as well as the general shape that gives it that effect as well.
Rainbow Dash has the broadest shoulders of the bunch, Bic Mac aside. Trying to look more tomboyish I know, but the effect is more "Male" than anything, breasts aside.
It's all just off, anyway. Pity, it could have been really great if they didn't look like cute guys instead of girls.

Guys, admit it. You're just so used to staring at anime chicks all day, so as soon as there is a little bit of a realistic touch to a picture, you think it looks masculine.
