A small two-door city car produced by Italian manufacturer Fiat from 1957-1975. Powered by a very small engine, its characteristic features include the lack of a radiator air intake in front (the manufacturer logo usually being placed there), wide-set round headlamps with small turn signal lights, and a generally rounded appearance (though not as rounded as the comparable Volkswagen Beetle). Some models were fitted with a retractable roof.
The 2006 Disney-Pixar animated movie "Cars" features a Fiat 500 portraying the character Luigi.
