Edit
Toon art (from cartoon) is artwork drawn with the exaggerated characteristics of typical Western animation and comics. These designs are often modeled in the style of classic Disney or Warner Bros. animation, but can also include styles from superhero, newspaper, or indie/underground comics. Modern cartoons that take cues from anime and manga, but still remain recognizably western (such as Teen Titans or Avatar) count under this umbrella as well.
While there are some Japanese characters that resemble toons, such as the casts of Sazae-san and Anpanman, they do not count under this tag by default.
Japanese anime-styled fanart of Western cartoons and comic books is usually acceptable if it is high quality, but should still be uploaded sparingly.
