Wiki Requests

Not really a request, but made the usage of armpits and armpit peek more clear, since both tags shouldn't be used together.

It would be nice to have a more complete definition of what, exactly, an armpit peek is, though. Presently, the tag seems to be used for two completely different things:

The first definition seems analogous to tags like upskirt and downblouse, since it's a glimpse of parts that would normally be covered by clothing. The second definition is something else entirely. I don't think we should use the same tag for both.

I tend to use armpit_peek for the first definition similar to similar peek tags like panty_peek.

The second, I don't see any real distinction from just the standard armpits tag since the "peek" seems to be a result of anatomy rather than action on the subject's part or camera placement.

I see, well i'll keep that in mind with future edits.

And as with post #200868 , the scenery tag does the job of what background was intended to do with that picture. Same goes with other pictures like it so i think it's unnecessary.
I would say just nuke it then.

Panty peek isn't really similar because there's pantyshot to take away anything anything where POV is a factor, and POV is also always a factor when it comes to armpits.

How I've always used it is armpit_peek is for a glimpse of the armpits, when they are partially visible and partially obscured, whereas armpits is when they are clearly visible. This is also what the wiki suggests they should be used for.

There is an (underused) up sleeve tag that, if used properly, could capture the difference between the first and second things mentioned above.

Not a wiki request, but I'll most likely do a guide/revisit on filetypes and where uploading duplicates is actually preferred, since there seems to be considerable confusion over it.

Wanted to make a mention to it since there are plenty of users that should be interested in clearing up the smoke around it.

What is the policy for unaliased, old artist name wikis like makoto na and mana (gooney) (old names of mana (tsurubeji))? I edited one of them for deletion by a builder+ user but instead it was reverted. Some months ago some of the wikis I edited for deletion are deleted, so I want to know if something has changed.

Mmm... For not well-known artists, usually a deletion on the wiki-page suffices. But a wiki page for an old artist name is usually only best effective in place for an artist that doesn't have an alias for their old name in place yet, and where such an alias isn't really desired or needed. The amount of misses for old artist names are usually few and rare in between, and the "Other names" field will often suffice for searches that have them. Unless, of course, the artist name was blatantly incorrect to begin with. That's another case where a wiki page would be deserved, but again it's a rare case and one that would find insignificantly little use as most popular artists' names are already well indexed.

I updated Howto:Translate earlier today with several external resources I've used to help with translations. Should programs that need to be installed or paper resources be included as well, or would that be a bit too much for this site...?

After having cleaned up the sideboob nipples search, which is years worth of mistagging, I wanted to stress that the wiki mentions that sideboob should not be used when nipples are visible.
That leaves questions open, though:
What if the areolae is visible: sideboob areolae?

Ad should sideboob still be used when you have see-through attire, like in post #2820654 or post #2604243 (both rated q)?

EDIT Thanks to @nonamethanks for treating the same search, but with loli and banned_artist posts.

Inverted nipples are still nipples. There used to be an implication but it was removed due to covered nipples.

Before checking after reading your response I'd never seen any posts with inverted nipples noticeable through clothing by the way of being covered and not see-through so it makes sense I guess, there are very few tags that fits that but they still exist so I'll keep it in mind for the future.

town village
Something to differentiate them from city as there are a lot of city posts that should probably be taged town or even village.
Alternatively alias town to city.

Should bob cut imply short hair?
It says that it's for short hairstyles only and the search bob_cut long_hair solo has very few results and some are mistagged.

Male characters can wear a bob cut, and short hair isn't meant for males, so there's that.

Moreover, even though bob cuts are a shorter-than-average hairstyle, they aren't necessarily short enough to meet the definition of short hair. The hairstyle in post #2677762, for instance, reaches the shoulders, but it retains the signature bob shape.

But it also has stuff like post #2387609 inside.

I don't understand why we tag Takanami's hairstyle as bob cut. With braids and long sidelocks, it looks absolutely nothing like a bob cut to me. :/
